AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MAINE

All faculty, staff, and students involved with the use of vertebrate animals in research, teaching, testing, or related purposes are required to complete the Institutional Animal Care and Use Training Program.  The Training Program is in compliance with federal regulations and the University of Maine’s approved Animal Welfare Assurance.  The IACUC will not act on protocols for approval of animal use until all project personnel have been certified as having completed the training program.

The Training Program is a web based tutorial and takes approximately one hour to complete.  (The former one-day training session will be no longer be offered.)  The certification is a one-time requirement.
